Introduction to Agriculture Studies
(BIOL 1009)

  • Students will receive an overview of the major themes of Agriculture.

  • Course Objectives:

    • Become familiar with the interdisciplinary nature of agriculture science, technology, and business.

    • Survey agricultural scientific principles, including forestry, data, and supply chain.

    • Recognize the importance of interdisciplinary agriculture and its application to the economy and environment.

    • Articulate interdisciplinary agriculture and its relevance from seeds and soil to supply chain logistics.

    • Communicate the value of interdisciplinary agriculture in the context of food and environmental sciences.

    • Appreciate the diversity of methods of interdisciplinary agriculture through examination/discussion of primary literature.

    • Work collaboratively in a group to evaluate and discuss current topics in interdisciplinary agriculture.
