Plants in Our World: Food, Medicine, and Biodiversity

Prerequisites: BIOL1120 or permission of instructor
Students will explore how plants grow, adapt, and sustain life on Earth, and examine their roles in various applications upon and beyond our planet
Course Objectives:
Understand basic ecological principles as they relate to plants and ecosystems
Develop skills recognizing and describing major plant groups
Explore applications of plant science in food, medicine, and sustainability
Gain hands-on experience with greenhouse, hydroponic, and herbarium methods for studying and managing plant diversity
